Jamiyyatul Falah, in collaboration with BC Road Lions Seva Mandir and with support from the Karnataka Marwari Youth Federation of Bengaluru, hosted a transformative two-day event on December 9 and 10, 2023. Held at Buntwal Cross Road, located 16 kilometers from Mangaluru city, this free artificial limb fitting camp aimed to bring hope and mobility to individuals grappling with disabilities.
The camp saw participation from over a hundred individuals with disabilities from various districts of Karnataka, Kerala, Goa, and Maharashtra. These individuals, who had lost their limbs due to accidents, congenital conditions, or diseases like diabetes gangrene, received Jaipur brand artificial limbs free of charge.
Rashid Vitla, President of Bantwal Jamiyyatul Falah, highlighted the significance of the event, emphasizing its alignment with World Disability Day on December 9th. The camp not only provided essential support but also contributed to the global dialogue on disability rights and inclusion. Through this initiative, Jamiyyatul Falah aimed to restore dignity, independence, and a brighter future for those facing physical setbacks.
The camp exemplifies the power of collaborative efforts between humanitarian organizations and local communities to make a positive impact, reinforcing Jamiyyatul Falah’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities.
